Rhode Island, 1999.
I worked at more than six flower shops within Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
The first flower shop I worked at in Rhode island was very unoriginal.
They had many little elves working on one huge conveyor belt putting the same repetitive piece together over and over again.
I really did not like the scene there because I believe that you should only work with flowers if you can be creative.
So I was put in the downtown store that was much smaller, and it was only me and another woman.
Anyway, she tried to make me design the flowers with an A-frame, and that did not last long. I would do them all differently, and people liked them.
She would get really jealous, and so I said goodbye to that place. On to better and bigger things. I worked at a few more shops eventually finding my own style and technique.
