Artfully Styled Wedding Florals at the Chanler
The Feel
The mid-June wedding of A+C at The Chanler in Newport, Rhode Island brought together the clarity of a classic white wedding with subtle modern detailing, resulting in a design that felt both enduring and quietly contemporary.
Set along the Cliff Walk, The Chanler offers a distinctive sense of place — oceanfront, architectural, and inherently cinematic without needing embellishment. Stoneblossom worked closely with the couple and their planner, Julia Livia of RISE Events, to develop a floral design that responded directly to the property’s architecture, coastal light, and layered interiors.
Throughout the day, curated collections of artwork were incorporated into the guest experience, creating the feeling of an intimate gallery unfolding across the estate. This sense of curation extended naturally into the floral approach, where each installation was considered as part of a larger spatial rhythm rather than individual moments.
The overall atmosphere was rooted in restraint and romance. Softly layered florals and a controlled palette allowed the setting itself to remain present while still feeling fully transformed for celebration. From the ceremony’s start to the final toast inside the tent, the experience unfolded with ease, warmth, and quiet precision.
The Tables
Inside the reception tent, tabletops were adorned with lightly layered arrangements in hues of white, cream, and ivory with natural touches of greenery. June’s finest blooms were at the heart of the arrangements, featuring fragrant peonies, ranunculus, and garden roses overflowing from sandstone vessels.
The intentional use of color within the tent created a crisp, polished atmosphere that felt naturally nuanced with soft, romantic layers and textures working together to create an ultra-considered environment for the evening’s celebrations.
Lighting played an equally important role in shaping the atmosphere as the evening progressed. Gold tabletop lamps were woven into the design alongside candlelight, adding a soft, layered glow that complemented the tent’s transition from daylight into evening. The effect was subtle but impactful, reinforcing the intimacy of the space without overpowering the floral composition.
The Details
Across every touchpoint of the day, the floral design was approached with the same level of intention — from personal florals to guest-facing installations.
The bridesmaids carried rattan baskets overflowing with romantic seasonal blooms that echoed the arrangements found throughout the ceremony and reception. The natural texture of the baskets added a warm touch to the crisp white palette, and quietly echoed the coastal influence of the venue. At the bar, classic florals were paired with modern, textural blooms such as green amaranthus, that subtly distinguished the bar arrangements from the tabletop florals.
Each element was considered not as an isolated detail, but as part of a continuous visual language carried throughout The Chanler. This consistency allowed the experience to feel cohesive and immersive, while still responsive to the natural architecture and flow of the property.
Each wedding at The Chanler offers its own interpretation of the estate — shaped by the couple, the season, and the way the day is experienced along the water’s edge. For A+C, that expression was rooted in restraint, romance, and a quiet sense of precision that allowed every detail to feel intentional without ever feeling overworked. It is in these kinds of environments — where architecture, landscape, and design are already in conversation — that floral work becomes most impactful.
