Old World Romance In New England
Tucked into the rolling hills of the Berkshires, G+M tied the knot in a gorgeous June wedding. Taking place at the stunning Wheatleigh Hotel, guests were transported into a romantic, sun-drenched villa, like one you may find in the Italian countryside. Our team worked alongside Tara Consolati and the couple to bring their vision to life—an elegant fusion of old-world European charm. Drawing inspiration from the artful architecture and lush grounds of the venue, the design plan centered on timeless elegance, and organic beauty.
The evening before the wedding was an intimate affair inside the villa. Tablescapes composed of abundant candlelight filled the space with a golden glow that welcomed guests and set the perfect stage for an evening of celebrating the couple. The following day, G+M exchanged their vows under a lush chuppah, in a romantic garden ceremony. Beautiful June blooms of delphinum, garden roses, and hydrangea adorned the chuppah, intertwined with organic tendrils of reaching vines adding organic movement throughout the structure, perfectly framing the couple at the altar.
As day turned to evening, the celebration continued under a clear-top tent—allowing guests to dine and dance beneath the stars while taking in the sweeping views of the mountain-spotted landscape. The floral compositions were intentionally loose and romantic, with soft white and creamy blooms layered among textured organic greens. Each arrangement was designed in weathered Campo De Fiori compotes, adding an earthy, old-world feel that seamlessly complemented the venue’s architecture and natural surroundings.
To create a truly immersive experience, we brought the outdoors into the tent. Our team designed four custom-built trees that framed the tent’s entrance and flanked the bar areas. These tall, sculptural elements grounded the space in nature and added a touch of whimsy and grandeur to the reception. The centerpieces were refined yet relaxed, and designed with thoughtful details that spoke to the couple’s unique love story. Every design choice was made with intention, resulting in an atmosphere that felt both intimate and abundant—a perfect setting for two families coming together as one.
Every element of G+M’s celebration was thoughtfully curated to reflect a sense of organic romance and understated luxury. From the elegant villa interiors, to the open-air tent overlooking the Berkshires, the design balanced old-world charm with an organic, modern twist. The overall atmosphere of the weekend celebrated the coming together of family, and the couple, resulting in an ultra-romantic and memorable weekend that will hold dear memories for years to come.
